Getting ERR 02 or FUSE Message on LCR meters 878B, 879B, 880

If the display of the LCR meter is showing ERR02 or a FUSE error message, check the internal fuse to verify that it is still operating normally.  The fuse is marked by F200, located near the shielding spring on the bottom right of the back of the board near the Guard terminals. This is a SMD fuse. Replacing this should remove the errors. Fuse information can be obtained here:

The 879B and 878B use an SMD fuse for input protection, it is marked as F200 on the lower right of the PCB.  The fuse detail are:

• Size: 1206
• Current Rating: 125mA
• Voltage Rating: 63V
• Type: Fast Blow

The most common cause of this error is due to improper use of the LCR meter, or accidentally putting a charged component or static at any of the inputs of the meter. Because the meter contains very sensitive electronic components, any externally charged electrical elements can damage something internally, thus causing this error message to arise.
