How do I extract graphed data or datalog using PV8500 software?
2020-01-15
The PV8500 software provides a visual illustration of real time measured voltage, current, and power at the input terminals at fixed sampling time about less than one second. The graphed data not only shows measured data at any given time when load is connected to the PC, but also can extracted for data analysis. In itself it acts like a datalogging function via PC control.
In order to extract the graphical data, double click on the graph you want to extract. A new window will pop up as shown below: https://bkprecision.my.site.com/desk/servlet/rtaImage?eid=ka04T0000001yVg&feoid=00N4T000001dN5d&refid=0EM4T0000004luc
Select the "Save to Plot" icon and this will allow you to save all the data values of the graph into a .plt plot file. To extract this data for use in other software such as MS Excel, simply open the file with Notepad or Wordpad. Note that .plt extension is not automatically recognized by a PC, but it can be opened just like a text file. Once opened, save it as a .txt or .csv file. You will notice that the values are delimited by spaces. Use this selection when opening the newly saved file in MS Excel or other applications that allow for data graphing/plotting.
