I cannot remotely control my 1856D or 1823A frequency counter in hyperterminal
2019-12-23
In order to communicate with the frequency counter, the DTR line must be enabled/asserted and RTS line must be disabled/not asserted. Hyperterminal does not have configurable options to control the state of these lines, thus it cannot be used to communicate with the counter. There are other alternative programs such as RealTerm, which gives you the necessary configurable options to communicate remotely.
