Setup, Recall, and Run Timed Program With Remote Commands for 1696, 1697, and 1698 Power Supplies
2019-12-23
In order to setup and recall stored programs saved into the internal memory for power supplies model 1696, 1697, and 1698, please look at the following command protocols and examples to describe how to do these actions via RS232 with remote commands.
PROM
location {1-9} Voltage {010-XXX} Current {001-XXX}
Example: PROM003123456
This example sets V = 12.3V and I = 4.56A parameters and store to memory location 3.
This command sets the voltage and current to the location of the memory. You can assign from 1-9. To recall the location, do this:
RUNM
location {1-9}
Example: RUNM003
This example will recall what was set above using the PROM command. To set a timed program, use the command:
PROP
location {00-19} Voltage {010-XXX} Current {001-
XXX}Minute {00-99} Second {00-59}
Example: PROP00001234560216
This example will setup Step 00: V = 12.3V, I = 4.56A for 2mins 16secs Repeat this command if you have multiple steps. So lets say you have another step, say Step 01. Change the location to 01 in the command like this:
PROP0001
After you setup the steps, you can run the program by # of cycles using the command:
RUNP
times {0000-9999}
Example: RUNP000020
This example will run the set program from above PROP command for 20 times. Here's a complete example. Suppose we want to do the following:
- Step 00: V = 10.0V, I = 0.12A , 3min 48sec
- Step 01: V = 6.5V, I = 7.89A , 1min 56sec
- Step 02: V = 0.4V, I = 1.28A , 80min 2sec
- Cycle Step 00-02 189x times. We would send the following commands:
PROP00001000120348
PROP00010657890156
PROP00020041288002
RUNP000189
