La nouvelle famille d'oscilloscopes 2540C se différentie par la fonction MSO (Mixed Signal Oscilloscope) qui est soit proposée en standard sur les modèles avec extension MSO ou sous forme de clef d'activation pour un ajout de la fonction après achat. La fonction MSO ajoute de nombreuses possibilités de debug lorsque l'utilisateur est en présence de signaux analogiques et numériques. Cette famille dispose d'une bande passante pouvant aller jusqu'à 200MHz et 2 entrées analogiques, une fréquence d'échantilonnage de 1 GSa/s, et une profondeur mémoire jusqu'à 14 Mpoints. Sur cette famille, en plus de l'écran LCD panoramique, la fréquence de rafraichissement de l'écran est portée à 60,000 wfms/s, ce qui permet d'afficher des signaux fugitifs ou transitoires correctement La fonction MSO (en standard ou en option suivant modèle) ajoute 16 voies logiques. Il est possible aussi d'ajouter des décodages de bus (I2C, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, et LIN ) par achat de licence.
